You are indeed splitting the brand as a "multilane author". For instance, I doubt a reader of historical romance has much interest in fantasy. I won't even talk to readers of fantasy. Just kidding : )
I actually read broadly and love when authors take up more than one lane on the genre highway. I have read both of these genres among many others.
The only lane I can't blindly follow an author along is horror because my imagination is too sharp. 😉
